Change is everywhere in our lives. Each day we’re dealt the big blows – sick children, a broken refrigerator, feedback on a project from a superior, a colleague’s departure… What do we do? We block and tackle, we multitask, we delegate, we re-prioritize!

Should you ever have the unfortunate experience of going through a merger or restructuring at work, you might remember how it can be the ultimate test in handling change. In fact, you might remember the colleague who resisted it, who fought it every step of the way, ultimately ending up unhappy. Is that the person you really want to be?

A few inspirations around change:
1. Set the example – take the high road and resist the temptation to gossip or complain
2. Embrace it – look for the opportunities that come with a change situation
3. Remember that everything always works out – say it in your head over and over
