Each day, between the hours of 7-8 AM, I wish that I were a stay-at-home-mom. This hour is probably the most frustrating and painful time of the day – I’m dressing, brushing, packing, cleaning, yelling, reminding, reminding again, threatening, begging, all while chugging my coffee. Then, something unplanned happens: a blowout that requires a bath, an entire bowl of Cheerios spilled all over the floor, a suddenly “remembered” homework assignment, etc… By the time we’re out the door, usually by 8:15am (15 minutes after our target “out the door” time), I pull out of my driveway and think, “If only I could be at home all day and get my life in order? If I were a stay-at-home mom, my life wouldn’t be such a mess.” Then I remember one thing:
- Getting out the door each day is an amazing accomplishment. Kudos to me for moving mountains!
I hope this little tidbit will help provide some solace if you’re ever feeling overwhelmed by it all. Pat yourself on the back each morning – you made it out of the house in one piece!
